| Tragik Entertainment Explore Importance Of Blues Music To American Culture- Two Saint Louis Filmmakers are Behind a New Documentary That Tells the Story of the Blues from a Different Perspective. Instead of just another history Documentary or Biographical piece, they are making a film about the many different ways that Blues Music has influenced not only music, but popular culture and society as a whole. America's Blues covers the obvious impact blues music has had on the genres of jazz, rock & roll and country, and explores the influence it has had on other parts of American culture including literature, film and tourism. The film boasts an extensive cast of multiple Grammy winners, world famous artists, authors and scholars. "Rather than just make another history documentary or biography, we wanted to show how important blues is to our society by exploring the different ways that it has influenced our popular culture, " says Patrick Branson, the film's director and executive producer. TrAGiK Entertainment has recently launched an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign to raise the funds needed to finish post-production and submit the final project to film festivals around the world. "I think that once people see what we are doing and the unique angle we're taking they'll quickly realize that this film is long overdue, they'll get behind it, " says Aaron Pritchard, the film's producer. America's Blues utilizes interviews with luminaries and aficionados to relate the sides of the blues heritage that up until now have been overlooked by the likes of excellent documentaries such as Martin Scorsese Presents the Blues and Lightning in a Bottle. Musical authorities range from living legends like Big George Brock to an up and coming artist like Samantha Fish. Interviewees are as disparate as Curtis Salgado - one of John Belushi's inspirations for the iconic Blue Brothers - and Bill Luckett - the Mayor of Clarksdale, Mississippi and co-owner of the Ground Zero Blues Club – and Dr. Dean Alger - the author of the definitive biography of Lonnie Johnson. Through testimonials and first hands accounts, the America's Blues story unfolds taking its viewers beyond the history, guiding them through the music's vast social and cultural contributions while celebrating the heritage of this original American art form. According to Branson, production is nearly complete and contingent on funding they are expecting to release the film in summer of 2015.
