| Noël Quintana & The Latin Crew added to JazzLive International Festival Schedule The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust announced today that there has been a special addition to the 4th Annual Pittsburgh JazzLive International Festival taking place in the heart of Pittsburgh's Downtown Cultural District this summer, June 20-22, 2014. The Pittsburgh JazzLive International Festival is a production of the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust. Noël Quintana & The Latin Crew will be performing in Katz Plaza, located at the corner of 7th Street and Penn Avenue, on June 22, 2014, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. This event is presented by ¡Hola Pittsburgh! and sponsored in part by ImaginePittsburgh.com an initiative of the Allegheny Conference on Community Development. About Noël Quintana & The Latin Crew Noël Quintana & The Latin Crew is one of Cleveland and Pittsburgh's leading salsa and Latin Jazz bands. The band was founded in 1999 by Quintana, a Cleveland-based Puerto Rican percussionist, band leader, researcher, educator and artistic director. He was born in New York City and grew up surrounded by Afro-Caribbean music. Quintana took private lessons early in his life from renowned percussionist and recording artist, Luis Romero. Quintana has performed with such Latin music giants Tito Puente, Johnny Almendra y Los Jóvenes del Barrio, Luís Romero y Mazacote, among others. He has taught for Northewast Ohio Jazz Society's Banda Hispana Cultural and the Juilia de Burgos Community Center for 16 years, as well as teaches private lessons in Latin percussion and programs for schools and cultural centers.
