| Winners of EUROPAfest 2014 International Festival were announced For two weeks, between May 8 and 24, EUROPAfest 2014 revitalized the musical stage of the capital city, bringing more than 300 musicians from 45 European states to Bucharest, but also special guests from other continents. The International Festival EUROPAfest, an annual event in its 21st edition, concluded with a gala concert which brought on the stage of Odeon Theatre in Bucharest the best musicians in the two contests, Bucharest International Jazz Competition and Jeunesses International Flute Competition "Dinu Lipatti, " held during the event between May 7 to 24, reports a press release sent by the event organizers, jmEvents, and quoted by Mediafax. Under the slogan "It's all about live quality music!" the 21st EUROPAfest edition held between May 8 and 24 brought more than 300 artists from 45 states on the stages in Bucharest. Thus, the prize winners for the contest Jeunesses International Flute Competition "Dinu Lipatti" were Carmineluigi Amabile (Italy) first place Son Sojeong (South Korea, Germany), second place at category D (18-30 years), and Zolnacz Marianna (Poland), first place, Cellachi Riccardo (Italy), second place and Storcz Laura (Hungary), third place within C category (14-18 years), whereas Squire Theodore (UK, Germany) was awarded a special prize for the interpretation of a contemporary piece. As for Bucharest International Jazz Competition, the winners were The Windwalkers (Germany, Colombia, Hungary, Cyprus) at the Grand Prize Winner category, and Fabio Giachino (Italy) at the Best Band category. The Royal House awarded the excellence diploma for the support of culture and youth and the encouragement of cultural patronage, as prince Nicholas of Romania was present at the festivity. EUROPAfest is an international music festival held each spring in May, in Bucharest, Romania. The festival is considered a country brand being the only one in Europe which presents four music genres in a single event: jazz, blues, pop and classical music, bringing together, every year, bands and classical musicians from 45 countries around the globe. The festival concept was born in 1993. At first it was called "Jeunesses Musicales International Festival" and hosted only classical music events, but the idea of the festival was changed in 2002. Together with the new name of EUROPAfest, three more music genres were added to the festival's agenda: jazz, blues and pop. In 2005 the festival came under the patronage of Their Royal Highnesses Princess Margareta and Prince Radu.
