Larry Carlton New Zealand Tour

Guitar legend Larry Carlton will be performing two shows in New Zealand this June. The Larry Carlton Quartet plays at Auckland's Bruce Mason Centre on Friday 6 June and at the Opera House in Wellington as part of the Wellington Jazz Festival on Saturday 7 June.

With a career spanning 30 years, Larry Carlton is considered one of the music industry's most influential and prolific players. A member of jazz supergroups The Crusaders, Fourplay and Stanley Clark and Friends, Carlton has collaborated with many of contemporary music's greatest artists including Eric Clapton, John Lennon, Carole King and Billy Joel.

During his three-decade career Carlton has played on more than 200 hit singles, 100 gold albums and has recorded 31 solo albums. He has been nominated for 19 Grammy awards, and won four, and receiving Guitar Player Magazine's Lifetime Achievement Award.

Four-time Grammy Award winner, American jazz, fusion and blues guitar legend Larry Carlton comes to New Zealand in June to perform two concerts only in Auckland and Wellington.

The Larry Carlton Quartet plays at Auckland's Bruce Mason Centre on Friday 6 June and at the Opera House in Wellington as part of the Wellington Jazz Festival on Saturday 7 June.

He featured on the famous theme for television's Hill Street Blues and played on the Against All Odds soundtrack.

His distinctive guitar playing is evident of hits including Joni Mitchell's Court and Spark and Michael Jackson's Off the Wall while Rolling Stone Magazine described his solo of Steely Dan's Kid Charlemagne as "one of the greatest rock guitar solos of all time".
