“Janine Gilbert-Carter: Jazzy, Soulfully Yours!” Makes NYC debut

"Jazzy, Soulfully Yours"will be an intimate evening of Jazz and Blues standards, paying tribute to many of our Jazz legends. Be prepared to go on an amazing musical journey dedicated to many musicians that Janine Gilbert-Carter has known so well. You will not be disappointed.

Janine Gilbert-Carter is from Washington, DC, where she has been entertaining audiences for over a decade. And her audiences keep coming back for more, having been delighted with her performances at leading DC jazz venues such as The Mandarin Oriental, Kaufmann's, Laportas, The Strathmore, Twins Jazz, The U Street Jazz series, The FMJS East Coast Jazz Festival, the Mid-Atlantic Jazz festival and the legendary Washington DC Jazz Club Blues Alley, in addition to several prestigious White House Events. She has also completed four international tours to Italy, Russia and Israel. She has long been recognized in Washington, Baltimore and yes, overseas, by being nominated and receiving awards and accolades, including Washington DCs famous "Wammie ; At Last " which is found on CD Baby . And now, at last, she is finally coming to Manhattan and the Metropolitan Room has got her!

The Janine Gilbert-Carter Quintet features Eric B. Byrd, piano, Wes Byles, Bass, Jef Neal, Drums, Marshall Keys, Sax, Janine Gilbert-Carter, vocals.
The emcee for the evening will be New York native Carol May Tyson, daughter of world renowned and prolific bassist of the postwar era, Earl May. Mrs. Tyson is a producer of DC Jazz Radio WFPW 89.3's Robyn's Place, featuring Robyn Holden.
