On April 25, 2014 at 8:00pm, Patrizia The Sultry Lady Of Jazz, Award Winning International Jazz Vocalist coming to San Diego, will pay homage to Ella Fitzgerald, celebrating the 56th anniversary of Ella Fitzgerald's Birthday Concert in Rome, with a commemorative performance at Convivio Art and Cultural Center, in San Diego's historic Little Italy. The exciting program includes Ella's original arrangements, by some of the greatest composers, George and Ira Gershwin, Richard Rogers and Lorenz Hart, Ella Fitzgerald, Irving Berlin, including Oh Lady Be Good, Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered, A Tisket A Tasket to name a few, led by her music Director Ron Levy.

"I am so excited to present my Portrait of Ella Concert Friday April 25, 8:00PM, The Anniversary of the Ella Fitzgerald Legendary Birthday Concert in Rome, her concert was held on her 41st birthday April 25, 1958, which is considered the best live performance of her career, this year this anniversary falls on a Friday, I thought what a great time to pay tribute to this legendary musician on the actual date 56years later. I fell in love with her music when I was a child. her outstanding musical ability, I could not fully appreciate. My love for her became admiration after my uncle took me to one of her concerts, sitting in a VIP seat I became one of her most loyal fans. This concert is truly a reflection of my love for Ella's work. My repertoire will center on a special moment in American history, using Ella's original arrangements done for her in the 1940-1950's, arrangements not heard by live audiences in more than 40 years. I will be accompanied by a group of outstanding musicians and surprise guest. will create a dynamic combination making Convivio, the perfect atmosphere for this Birthday Concert celebration (originally held in Rome), promises an evening of beautiful music." said Patrizia

ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Patizia dubbed the sultry lady of jazz by her fans early in her career, originally from Denver, Colorado, lives in San Diiego's north county, performing internationally, is a highly acclaimed award winning Jazz Vocalist, Recording Artist, Composer, Producer and Artistic Director, with a 41/2 octave vocal range sings in English, Spanish and Italian, presents swingin upbeat tempos, heartfelt ballads, soulful blues and bossa nova's latin lovers, having a naturally pure way of creating strong emotions in her listeners, so much feeling she makes each composition come alive. Telling the story, whether she is the composer or not, as if she were. Ron Levy, from Cambridge, MA, her music director/ band leader, having garnered seven Grammy nominations, brings his boundless enthusiasm and exceptional artistry, making him one of the nations most sought after organist/pianist, recording artist, composer/music director, having recorded with Cannonball Adderley, featured on all-star roster of guests, including Freddie Hubbard, Melvin Sparks, David T. Walker, Steve Turre, Idris Muhammad and Preston Shannon, regularly collaborates with and produces artists like Jimmy King, Karl Denison, Charles Earland, numerous additional credits.

Tim Miller, her upright bassist, has established himself as a skilled player, having played in Robert Holts big band, Robert Magris, Cal Tjader, Alan Winkel trio, Bob Keller, Ron, Levy, Norm Abejon will be creating the rhythmic drive and 'time" feel a sense of swing and grove, bringing an integral part to this outstanding group.

Danny King, her impressive drummer, hails from New York, having studied under Buddy Rich, is no stranger to the International scene, having played with Louie Bellson, Dizzy Gillespie, Wynton Marsalis, Billy Eckstine, Thelma Houston, Lorna Luft and others, brings an integral part, the swing feel, he will be stoking the fire, propelling each song, Danny's buoyant playing seems to match Rons relaxed attack on the piano his importance, never understated.
