| Celebrate the Holidays at NJPAC with Ellington at Christmas Sunday, December 8 at 4pm Featuring Savion Glover, Keith David, Lizz Wright and Priscilla Baskerville. This special holiday presentation, produced by the Apollo Theater Foundation, features Savion Glover (pictured) – Newark's own tap master – in a spirited celebration of the music of Duke Ellington. For a jazzy twist on a seasonal classic, nothing beats a live performance of the Ellington/Strayhorn Nutcracker Suite, a jumpin' interpretation of Tchaikovsky's score featuring the 16-piece David Berger Jazz Orchestra and students of Dance Theatre of Harlem. Also on the program is Ellington's rarely performed, reverent and hip Sacred Music, narrated by actor Keith David and accompanied by orchestra, choir, the soaring voices of Lizz Wright and Priscilla Baskerville and Glover himself. The NJPAC Box Office is open Tuesday-Saturday from noon to 6pm and Sunday from noon-5pm. The Box Office is closed on Mondays. Phone calls to 1-888-GO-NJPAC (466-5722) for single-performance ticket orders are answered seven days a week, from 9am to 9pm. Phone calls to 1-888-MY-NJPAC (696-5722) for groups of 10 or more are answered Monday-Friday from 9am-5pm.
