| The National Jazz Museum in Harlem November 11-15 Tuesday, November 12 Jazz for Curious Listeners Special Series: Tuning into Treme What is New Orleans Tradition? 7:00 – 8:30pm Location: Maysles Cinema (343 Lenox Avenue between 127th and 128th Streets) Every Tuesday evening in Nov., "Tuning into Treme" considers the fictional HBO series "Treme" and culture in the real New Orleans. On Nov. 12, journalist Larry Blumenfeld (Wall Street Journal, BluNotes) will screen excerpts from the upcoming "Treme" season, talk about the tensions surrounding New Orleans jazz culture, and explore the city's singular approach to music education. Tuesday's special guest, pianist/composer Courtney Bryan, is among the New Orleans-bred musicians profiled in a new documentary, "Jazz Dreams II"; we'll see clips from that film too. RSVP Here.
