| Matthew Nicholl - Executive Director of Berklee Mediterranean Music Institute ![]() Matthew Nicholl, a pianist, composer, and arranger, joined the faculty of Berklee's Harmony Department in 1996 and was appointed chair of the Contemporary Writing and Production Department in 2002. He has composed soundtracks for films, advertising, and numbers TV shows. Nicholl has also written several books about music and has released three albums. He has performed and taught in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, China, France, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Puerto Rico, Singapore, Spain, and all over North America. The Mediterranean Music Institute is part of Berklee's Valencia campus activities as well as a focused area of study in Boston.
