August Releasing "Calling Me Home, Chicago" On 8/29 In US

Written by Chicagoan Paul David Wilson, "Calling Me Home, Chicago " was originally written and released in 1985. While spending 5 years in Hawaii recovering from a severe stroke, Paul refined his ballad. Those words and that song kept him alive and drove his recovery until he finally returned to his beloved hometown.

AUGUST co-founder and producer, Gary Mackey says, "AUGUST has transformed Paul's ballad into an anthem for the City of Chicago : the people, the businesses, the bold architecture, and the mighty natural resources that come together to call every true Chicagoan home. The rhythm plus the horn arrangement by Stephen Eaklor summon the beauty of the city while at the same time boast of its strength."

The new arrangement brings Chicago style soul through the voice of Ron Porter, lead singer of AUGUST, whose unmistakable southside Chicago baritone vocals raise the song to a level that took the melody of a love song and actually dares you to love the city with more passion than you think you have to give. Said Porter, "you've gotta empty the tank to love this place right".

The song is available on iTunes in the US as of 8/29/13. It has already been released in the UK and Europe. AUGUST has added the song to its live performances including an upcoming performance on 8/31/13 at Hollywood Casino Aurora, http://www.hollywoodcasinoaurora.com/ .

AUGUST brands their musical style as "Hot Rhythm and Soul done Chicago Style", playing classic and iconic music from the 70s to today's newer artists along with original music. 11 musicians featuring a 7-piece horn section forms the band. Neither retro nor a typical horn band, AUGUST revives some of the greatest music ever written while continuing to add new material that meets their high standard.
