Maxwell will draw from his prodigious Maximum Blues repertoire, including material he originally recorded on his popular 1998 "Maximum Blues Piano" album. The rhythm section from that recording, Marty Ballou on bass and Marty Richards on drums, will join Maxwell as he stretches out, adding some "soul jazz" edge here and venturing further beyond there as exhibited in his most recent CD "Blues In Other Colors, " recorded last year. A career spanning from Freddie King, Bonnie Raitt and James Cotton, John Lee Hooker, Otis Rush and Ronnie Earl to name just a handful has placed Maxwell in the top tier of highly regarded blues pianists.
