| "Los Angeles Tymez: Urban Tales" Book Release ![]() "Los Angeles Tymes: Urban Tales" is the second effort from Tray Deee and Barrow. Their first book, "Streetz Gon' Cry, " from LeNoir Publications, was a fictional account of the King Crips and the Vernon Boys, who have an on-and-off rivalry. Writing from behind the walls of a state penitentiary, the street soldiers, alongside J-Dee, spin three tall tales of urban grit in "Los Angeles Tymez: Urban Tales" mixing sex, drugs and game like a Molotov cocktail, primed to set the reader's imagination on fire. With the additional release of author Gregory Garrett's fourth book, "Not on my Block, " the team is working to position their publishing effort as a real force in the urban lit genre. "Not on my Block, " brings the pain as Garrett takes the reader inside the criminal minds of The Bottom Boyz, a group of hustla's whose grind puts the 'gr' in grimy. Garrett gained his lit stripes with his prior books "Don't Mix the Bitter with the Sweet, " "Playin' for Keeps, " and "Pain Freak." Explains Tray Deee, "We are all the products of and respected factors in the inner city community, not just spectators aiming to exploit and profit from someone else's hardships. We are not only in a position to deliver accurate depictions of street life, but we can also deter others from taking the destructive paths we have taken, as well as offer a home and access with our publishing company to potential writers who share our vision." In addition to forming and co-owning Ave Money Publishing, Tray Deee is not letting the music go. Soon to drop this year is "Long Beach State of Mind." He is also due to be released from prison early next year. write your comments about the article :: © 2013 Jazz News :: home page |
