Peter Saltzman is a multi-dimensional, multi-talented musician's musician. His music style is classic and theatrical, all told with a flare of a whimsical storyteller. His talents are clearly visible through his complex composing skills. He is an extraordinary pianist and songwriter who has the ability to take a multi-directional approach to his music. He has been able to apply these skills in a variety of entertainment formats— large ensemble, trio, solo or in a theatrical context.

Peter Saltzman is a single artist but has led a several bands. He is currently working on a one-man show called Piano Diaries Live. This is an autobiographical project in which he tells stories around his songs and improvisations. This project/show will preview this fall at a Chicago area theater. It grew out of a series of online-only albums that (Piano Diaries) that had quickly grown to include such a theatrical version.

Another arm of his projects include the Peter Saltzman Band which is a group that is focused on more recent original material with a few highly idiosyncratic takes on well-known standards such as Bob Dylan and others. They perform at various venues in the Chicago area. In the 1980's and early 1990's, a previous incarnation of this band released an album titled "Songs from Two States" and recorded several unreleased songs which were all original. Highlights from this Peter's 1980s-90s style have been re-released in online-only album called "Uncollected Pop, Volume 1."

The Revolution Ensemble, yet another group that Peter formed in the late 1990s, combined elements of all of his styles—jazz, classical, pop, and Latin. This group performed at multiple arenas around the Chicago area, and released the critically acclaimed album "Kabbalah Blues-Quantum Funk", in 2000.

Peter Saltzman's latest release as a solo artist is "Uncollected Pop, Volume 2" which is filled with glorious harmony filled, melodic wonders that has a clear jazzy theatrical element to it. Songs such as "Light from Our Dreams" have a style that is a bit classic jazz/contemporary with a sprinkle of Caribbean salsa mixed in. It is smooth as butter and gives one the urge to take twirl around the dance floor with ones partner. It is a dreamy song that will dissolve any worries you might have in your mind.

Another song is "Agreeing Like That" which has a bit of a jazzy, neo-rat-pack feel to it - or perhaps a musical feel to it - or perhaps a theatrical piece, but whatever the audience takes from this music, the one thing that all is assured it is thoroughly entertaining. Peter's talent spans far beyond any barrier and is perfectly suited for any entertainment medium. From movies to theater to musicals to your local blues/jazz club, let Peter Saltzman put you on that magical carpet ride into his world.

Peter Saltzman's ability to transcend musical genres is ever apparent. He returns to the fundamentals of music itself and the craft of writing great melodies that are filled with some of the great piano and vocal compositions.
