| Concert For Sean Bergin Not a silent memorial, but an exuberant birthday party; that's how the recently departed Sean Bergin would have liked it. On the day that he would have turned 65 his family, friends and fans celebrate the life of the part Irish, South African born musician who has has meant so much to jazz and improvised music in The Netherlands. For nearly 40 years he stirred up Amsterdam as saxophone player, flutist, composer, and as both band and session leader. The concert will cover the whole era, with performances by J.C. Tans & His Rockets, Ernst Reijseger, Jan Willem van der Ham, Corrie van Binsbergen, Tobias Delius, Rogerio Bicudo and two versions of Sean's band MOB. They will be linked together by informal performances in the spirit of his famous Sunday afternoon sessions in De Engelbewaarder.
