| Jazz Vocalist Kathy Sanborn Turns Up the Heat with Sultry Night Sultry Night, the steamy and seductive new jazz album from singer, pianist, and composer Kathy Sanborn, releases July 2nd, 2013 through the Pacific Coast Jazz label. Sultry Night will be available for purchase from popular digital outlets such as iTunes. The CD version of Sultry Night debuts September 3rd, 2013. Sultry Night includes songs honoring jazz vocal legend Anita O'Day and popular screen actor Cary Grant. Sultry Night also includes the song, "Angels Cry, " which was penned by Sanborn in honor of the children who lost their lives in the Connecticut school tragedy. Besides producing, composing, and arranging the Sultry Night album, Sanborn provided the vocal and piano artistry. Sultry Night also features trumpeter Wayne Ricci's sensitive performances. Sultry Night follows Sanborn's critically acclaimed albums, Six Degrees of Cool and Blues for Breakfast. Both albums reached Amazon's bestselling MP3 Vocal Jazz charts. Music critic John Shelton Ivany of the National News Bureau says: "Kathy Sanborn is able to convey emotional truths with a sound no one else can produce-a quavering joy that works equally well over an ocean or acoustic chords of ballads. No one else sings like that." write your comments about the article :: © 2013 Jazz News :: home page |
