| Autumn Hill Jazz Fest Features Eric Marienthal Multi Grammy award-winning saxophonist Eric Marienthal teams up with St. Louis' Bach to the Future to headline a celebratory series of concerts during the first "Autumn Hill Jazz Festival." The exciting mix of contemporary jazz and classical-jazz fusion highlights Marienthal's own hits and new recordings with BTTF's award-winning keyboardist Mike Silverman and electronic percussionist Rob Silverman. Festivities feature three concerts packed with high-energy, trumpet all-star Dawn Weber and her trio, and internationally renowned pianist Ptah Williams. As guests arrive in the foyer, guitarist Tom Byrne welcomes them with song. With over 30 years of experience as a musician, composer, and educator, Eric Marienthal's resume is extensive. Starting with Al Hurt in New Orleans, he later gained international fame with Chick Corea's Elektrik Band. He now performs and records with The Rippingtons, Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band, while also working as a leader. Autumn Hill Jazz-a St. Louis based music label-presents this one time evening at The Sheldon Concert Hall on Friday, March 29 from 7-10 p.m. Proceeds from the "Autumn Hill Jazz Festival" will benefit Music for Lifelong Achievement, the not-for-profit organization based at the Sheldon that collects and refurbishes used musical instruments for financially disadvantaged local music students. write your comments about the article :: © 2013 Jazz News :: home page |
