| Iridium Inducted to NY Blues Hall of Fame Tonight The Iridium will be inducted into the New York Blues Hall of Fame tonight, making it the only active venue to receive the honor. The ceremony will be held at the club-which has hosted performances by blues greats like Mick Taylor, Joe Bonamassa, and Elvin Bishop among others-tonight at 8pm in conjunction with the performance by fellow inductees Savoy Brown and Kim Simmonds. "It's the top music club in New York City, " says Mike Packer, New York Ambassador for the International Blues Hall of Fame. "We're here to keep the blues alive, and that's what The Iridium's doing." Other recent inductees include Levon Helm, John Hammond, Roger Earl, Johnny Winter, and Joe Louis Walker. write your comments about the article :: © 2013 Jazz News :: home page |
