"She Motions" Album Release Party

Tony R. Taylor of Soul Entertainment, Inc. announced that a special entertainment event celebrating the release of "She Motions", the sophomore album from Atlanta's own soul diva, Ms. Monique, will take place at 7:00 pm on December 13th at Crossover Entertainment Complex – Studio A in Atlanta. "She Motions" was released November 6th. Media and music bloggers are invited to attend.

Taylor commented, "For quite a while now, people have been saying that music isn't what it used to be. So much of it is diluted to cross multiple genres and increase artists' fan bases. The content isn't lyrically strong either. There's a demand to bring real soul back to music – the kind of soul that Gladys Knight, Aretha Franklin, Patti LaBelle, and many others exuded. The largely ignored segment of the population that enjoys listening to their music undiluted and full of soul – that's who Ms. Monique sings for. They are our target audience."

Responding to how she's different from other artists, Ms. Monique said, "I'm a very passionate vocalist and songwriter, and I believe in writing and speaking about the truth, no matter how brash it may seem at times. When I am conveying a message about something, I don't water it down as much as some mainstream artists would because they don't think listeners are capable of consuming something that's so profound. My songs are about women who have been around the block a few times, and have had some life experiences and deep relationships. These women are trying to make the next walk around the block better and I am speaking out to help them. I believe in empowering women and listeners to know what their worth is and help them feel better about their situations. I want them to know that they're not alone, and they're not the only ones experiencing what they're going through. I also want them to know they have a choice in what to do about it. In my music, I always give you a scenario, whether it's about my baby's daddy or my best friend's troubles. But I always present a resolution as well. I'm not just a soul singer; I sing from my soul.

Ms. Monique's debut album, "Soul Sessions Chapter I" was released in 2005 to critical acclaim, earning awards for 2005 Blues Critic Best New Artist, 2005 #1 Indie Album (Blues & Soul Magazine – UK), 2006 Jus Blues Awards - Best New Artist, and 2006 Audition Radio Winner for the single "Mr. Do Right".

The Forever K Michael Collection, Leighala J. Management, MusicDish/Mi2N, Uptown Comedy Corner, Regenthebody, Divas In Defense, and Crossover Entertainment Group are among the event's sponsors.
