Caplansky's Deli offers another serving of the blues of Big Rude Jake

Caplansky's Deli on College added live music to the menu a couple of weeks back when legendary Toronto bluesman Jake Rude, (aka "Big Rude Jake"), entertained diners with a superb mix of blues standards and his own original tunes from 6 to 9 pm.

Announcing a return engagement for Jake on Thursday December 6th, and channeling actor Jack Nicholson, deli boss Zane Caplansky says: "He's baaacccck!"

"We had great feedback on the food, as usual, and on Jake's music, which added to the mood and the food at Caplansky's", says Zane, adding, "Like Caplansky's itself, Jake's an original."

Jakes' solo performances are a fascinating mix of blues, jazz and ragtime guitar. The unique finger picking style and old-school melodies are reminiscent of Leon Redbone and John Hammond.

"There's no cover charge, so come early on Thursday, December 6th and join the crowd. Eat, drink and enjoy the great Caplansky's food and the great music from Jake starting at 6 pm", Zane adds.

"I loved the folks at Caplansky's, ate too much between sets and hope to do so again, " says Jake who plays the old-time crowd-pleasing classics on acoustic guitar.
