marie-claire Appearing at the Metropolitan Room November 25, 2012 at 4pm (34 West 22nd Street, bet 5th and 6th ave, new york new york. Featuring marie-claire-vocals, Murray Wall-bass, Dwayne Clemons-trumpet, Sam Raderman-guitar, Luc Decker-Drums, Nial Djuliarso-piano.
marie-claire is an Italian-trained opera singer who has performed at Carnegie Hall and whose songs have been featured in feature films such as Lovin Jezebel and The Roommate. She spent time in front of the camera as a cast member on the second season of Chappelle's Show on Comedy Central.

Since marie-claire's return to her homeland Dominica from Bronx, NY (where she's lived since age two) she has through her girlfullofgold productions ltd, produced and hosted local music programs, while still making time to perform at events such as LIME Creole in the Park and various private functions. marie-claire has performed at several regional events including Love Fest (St. Lucia), Jamaica Jazz and Blues, Love Is All We Need (Antigua) and venues such as Russell's in Antigua Weekenz, Christopher's Jazz Café and Red Bones Blues Café, in Jamaica- almost second homes, for the celebrated singer.

Now back in her second home of New York, marie-claire's has returned to her first love which is jazz. Her completed EP, 'chasin' rainbows', produced by Grammy winning producer Scott Jacoby is a reflection of her love for the genre, the full length album entitled, 'under the covers', will be out later this year with original material and standards. Her quintet includes Murray Wall on bass, Dwayne Clemons on trumpet, Sam Raderman on guitar, Luc Decker on drums and Nial Djuliarso on piano, there gigs have included the Metropolitan Room in NYC as well as other notable jazz venues in the New York City area.

In addition to opera and jazz, marie-claire's passion is to seamlessly blend opera and hip-hop, as she finds the two genres covering the same themes with their highly dramatic lyrics, just listen to her amazing voice on DJ Logic's The Anomaly, or her songs "Red" and "Desperation." Now it is time to condense this blend of Opera, Hip-Hop and Reggae into a mature, sexy, and delightful album- a fitting description of marie-claire herself. Look out for her upcoming album the dreamland project which will feature marie-claire singing celebrated reggae songs (such as Bunny Wailer's "Dreamland" and Bob Marley's "Rastaman Chant") in Opera, and will include some original reggae selections such as "care for you" a sweet and timeless lover's rock with and old soul. This girl full of gold is a treasure you don't want to miss!
