Salem Jazz and Soul Festival

The Salem Jazz and Soul Festival Fall Fundraiser, Krypton Night, will be held on Sunday evening, Nov. 18, from 7 - 10 p.m. at Murphy's Pub, 300 Derby St., Salem. The show will feature the eclectic rock and soul music of Lois Lane and the Daily Planets.

There will be free appetizers early in the evening, dancing, a 50/50 raffle and a live auction. The event is a major fundraiser for the Salem Jazz and Soul Festival that produces free concerts for the public and raises money to support music education programs on the North Shore.

Lois Lane and the Daily Planets are a mainstay in the Boston area music scene who specialize in classic rock, blues, R & B, funk and jazz. Lois Lane fronts the band and is a phenomenal singer and a natural entertainer, known for getting and keeping the crowd on their feet dancing and grooving.

Audience members are encouraged to dress as their favorite super hero, to keep the Lois Lane/Superman theme going. The best-dressed will win $50 gift certificates from the Antique Table restaurant in Lynn. Costumes are not required. Major sponsors for the event are Murphy's Pub and Salem Cycle.

The Salem Jazz and Soul Festival is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that produces free concerts for the public and raises money to support music education programs in the North Shore area..
