On her stunning sophomore recording (Dream Awhile), New York native and award-winning vocalist Audrey Silver presented a collection of beloved standards to critical acclaim. As Geannine Reid wrote in JazzTimes, "Her tone is round, warn and wrapped with a low timber, it sends chills up your spine…Not since Karen Carpenter have I heard such a strong alto voice that is so pure and so convincing."For her appearance at The Metropolitan Room, Audrey will be performing songs from her first two recordings (Here in My Arms and Dream Awhile), some of her own compositions, and will be previewing songs from her third album, to be released in the Spring.
