Dos Cabezas Debuts On Reverbnation

This quirky Southwestern blues band, with an initial single that sounds like an old scratchy 78 RPM, says they are more than happy to be at 452. Says singer Joey Hidalgo, "of course we wanna be # 1, but the thing is our music of for real blues purists. If you like blues, and like our blues, then we dig you, and we think you got soul. It's just that simple. "

Adds younger brother Freddy, "we don't really care about what other people think. WE THINK the music business is pretty full of a lot of pompous fools that don't know anything about music, so why should we care? It's all about the music and the fans. We're gonna do some shows soon, and you'll hear this song on the radio soon, yah, and like, and then we'll see, if our fans dig it, then we'll be happy. We're not trying to live in the "GAGA land!

Admittedly, 452 is not a top 30 break in. But the band feels happy to be on the chart, and people can start buying the single on line at Amazon.com, iternationally, starting November 1st.

The record, a cover of the Jimmy Reed classic, "Big Boss Man", is recorded with cracks, pops and scratches. The band wanted to give the listeners the true feel of sitting around 40 years ago and listening to a very funky blues record.

Says Joey Hidalgo, 'that's what we set out to do, and I think we captured the feeling exactly. It's like this- life isn't perfect, and neither should music be, ESPECIALLY blues. It's about being down on your luck, having things go wrong, and then picking your ass up and you keep on movin'. That's us, and that's what we do. Some people will love it, others won't. We can't and aren't concerned about those that don't.

Sounds to this reporter that Dos Cabezas will keep on keepin' on.
