| Nicole Henry at Joe's Pub On Tuesday, November 27, international recording artist Nicole Henry returns to New York City to debut at the downtown New York City venue, Joe's Pub at the Public Theater for two shows at 7:30 & 9:30pm. Over the last six months, Ms. Henry has performed at Jazz at Lincoln Center's Allen Room, Dizzy's Club Coca Cola, and Feinstein's at Loews Regency. Ms. Henry takes this opportunity to enhance her collection of jazz standards by performing a number of originals and other songs from her latest CD, Embraceable, as well as selections from her upcoming January 2013 release, a live recording of her tribute to music of the 70s. "Joe's Pub has a tradition of serving New York City with some of the best talent from all genres. I'm excited to be welcomed to their stage", says the soulful songstress. In 2010, Ms. Henry was awarded a NYC Bistro Award for Outstanding Jazz Performance, and she has received multiple glowing reviews by the New York Times, including being described as "a pop-soul superwoman whose every gesture and inflection conveyed confidence and mastery." Ms. Henry will be accompanied by Dave Chiverton, her Miami-based drummer, as well as jazz piano virtuoso Kevin Hays (whose recent duo CD with Brad Meldhau deserves the highest merit); bassist Robert Jost; and guitarist Rodney Jones." write your comments about the article :: © 2012 Jazz News :: home page |
