| The National Jazz Museum In Harlem Announces Benefit Concert The National Jazz Museum in Harlem today announced the lineup of its fall benefit concert on Thursday, November 8 at 7:30pm at El Teatro, located in El Museum del Barrio, 1230 Fifth Avenue at 104th Street in New York City. The concert will be headlined by two of the most exciting young jazz artists in the country, Christian McBride and Jonathan Batiste. Christian McBride is the Artistic Advisor of the Museum and one of the most acclaimed jazz bassists of the last 20 years, recently winning a Grammy Award for his album "The Good Feeling." Also involved with the Museum as Associate Artistic Advisor, Jonathan Batiste is a gifted young musician, entertainer, and educator who will lead his hugely entertaining Stay Human Band. There will be a first-time jam with McBride and Batiste joining forces what will surely be one of the season's musical highlights. The concert will also feature The National Jazz Museum All-Star Big Band, the virtuoso "house band" led by conductor/saxophonist and NJMH Artistic Director, Loren Schoenberg, with special guest, vocalist Janis Siegel Proceeds from the concert will advance the Museum's mission to preserve, promote, and present jazz by inspiring knowledge, appreciation and celebration of jazz locally, nationally, and internationally. Since its founding in 1997, the National Jazz Museum in Harlem, a Smithsonian Affiliate, has been dedicated to celebrating and interpreting the rich history of jazz as a quintessential American art form.
