JodyJazz Inc Supports Savannah Jazz Festival

'JodyJazz Inc' has announced that it will be providing major support for the 2012 Savannah Jazz Festival. In its 31st year, the Savannah Jazz Festival takes place from Sunday September 23rd through Sunday September 30th and promises to be the biggest and most exciting festival yet. Located in Savannah, GA, 'JodyJazz Inc' is a world leader in the manufacture of Saxophone and Clarinet mouthpieces and has also recently launched a new Music Education media division. The company shall be supporting the festival both through participation by its founder and President, world-renown saxophonist Jody Espina, and also sponsorship of the concert appearances by some of its leading Endorser Artists.

Jody Espina shall be appearing throughout the festival; with his own acclaimed Quartet and with Bob Masteller & The Jazz Corner All Stars. Bob Masteller is the owner of the 'The Jazz Corner' in Hilton Head, recently voted on to DownBeat Magazine's list of Top 100 Jazz clubs in the world. Espina will also play lead Alto with the Savannah Jazz Orchestra (Big Band) at the Saturday night concert in Forsyth Park. Sure to be one of the major highlights of the festival, 'JodyJazz Inc' is the sponsor of the concert and is also sponsoring the special guest appearance of Ed Calle and Sam Skelton, two of the company's most influential Endorser Artists and two of the world's most acclaimed saxophonists. The Orchestra shall be playing the music of the guest artists plus one of Espina's compositions titled "Jody's Blues" in which Espina will be a featured soloist alongside Calle and Skelton.

The Savannah Jazz Festival boasts several other world-class Jazz musicians including local legend Ben Tucker, guitar virtuoso and President of Benedetto Guitars Howard Paul, and bassist and Jody Espina's fellow Berklee College of Music classmate Delbert Felix.

The Jazz Festival also features late night Jam Sessions at Blowin' Smoke BBQ, 514 MLK Jr. Blvd on the Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, scheduled to start at 11.00PM and go 'til late. "The Jam Sessions are going to be a lot of fun" said Espina. "Some of the greatest moments of previous festivals have occurred at the Jam Sessions so I urge everyone to come on by. We have a lot of special guests who shall be sitting in and there are sure to be plenty of other surprises."

'JodyJazz Inc' continues to expand its operation and worldwide reach and is rapidly becoming one of Savannah's most recognized and creative entities. The company has recently undertaken a series of moves to pursue its aggressive growth plans. Significant investments have been made in technology, machinery and man-power in order to bring the entire production process in-house. The centerpiece of this new expansion is a five-axis CNC machine which enables a greater than ever level of precision and speed resulting in both increased capacity and quality.

Jody Espina has performed live with the likes of Mel Torme, Patty Page, the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra and many other notables and also served as director of the Jazz Department at the prestigious Hoff Barthelson Music School in Scarsdale, New York. In 1999, Espina collaborated with famed saxophonist and mouthpiece maker Santy Runyon on a custom mouthpiece for his own use, eventually resulting in the first mass-produced "JodyJazz" mouthpiece. Espina launched 'JodyJazz Inc' shortly thereafter relocating the company to Savannah in 2008.

Jody Espina can be heard with his Trio every Friday and Saturday night at 'Rancho Alegra' Restaurant, Savannah's premier destination for authentic Cuban and Caribbean food. Situated at 402 MLK Blvd in Savannah, 'Rancho Alegra' offers great food, great music and great vibe..and NO cover charge!
