| Jazz Promoters Award winners 2012 Jazz Services is pleased to announce the recipients of this year's Jazz Promoters Awards delivered in collaboration with PRS for Music Foundation. The aim of the awards is to encourage and support small-scale promoters of new British jazz music who present material that is fresh and exciting, helping to invigorate the UK's jazz music scene. The award winners were selected by a panel drawn from PRS for Music Foundation, Jazz Services, Serious, and established musicians. The panel's criteria included looking for seasons of events which feature a majority of music by living British jazz composers and performers, with no fewer than six live music promotions to take place between September 2012 and August 2013. "At a time when another grant source has dried up our club hopes to avoid playing safe by booking only the proven popular artists. The enlightened approach of PRSF who understand the music and the promoters is invaluable in this endeavour." Chris de Saram, Wakefield Jazz.
