New Jazz Experience at De Champ

A highly successful live performance of Michele Henderson and her band on Sunday September 9th launched a new jazz experience at De Champ, Hotel, Restaurant & Bar in Picard, Portsmouth.

The new formula combines jazz-fun and food and has two variations.

One time each month there will be a live jazz performance while lunch is prepared and served by popular Chef Eric Subin.

This gourmet lunch presented in fine dining style requires that all guests are seated so there will be only limited space for those that have made pre-reservations.

After the lunch there is possibility for walk-ins. The live jazz events get sponsorship support from Digicel, Pirates, Archipelago and Kubuli.

On the other three Sundays of the month Jazz-DJ Jay Grimner will present his journey through the land of Jazz and Rhythm & Blues.

He will use all the 21st century tools that are available to make Sunday lunch a special experience: iPod music collection, the multi-million song music system Spotify, clips on YouTube and Google and Wikipedia to find connections between artists, albums and venues.

Be ready to answer some Trivia questions!

On the DJ-Jazz Sunday a special menu of top-notch pastas will be presented. A choice of delicious Italian "Chef Eric" sauces will be available to accompany the jazz experience.

De Champ in Picard (up the hill across Ross University) opened its doors as hotel and bar almost 4 years ago.

During this time they have developed as a restaurant of choice for the Picard and Portsmouth area and persons from all over the island are discovering the magnificent view and top-class food and cocktails.

In November De Champ will celebrate its 4th anniversary and of course the live jazz lunch of November will be a highlight in a series of events for that month.
