| Blue Kitty Music Releases Debut Disc, Liz Mandeville Clarksdale Chicago's new Blue Kitty Music has released their debut CD, Clarksdale, featuring new blues music by award winning singer/songwriter Liz Mandeville. Enlisting the support of legendary blues sax-man, Eddie Shaw and Grammy award winner, the late Willie "Big Eyes" Smith, Clarksdale's 11 songs draw inspiration from the Mississippi Delta. Mandeville, who recorded for Earwig Music Co. for 15 years, was encouraged by Smith to start the new label. He put his money where his mouth was, recording five tracks for Clarksdale before his untimely death last fall. Sadly, these recordings are his last. They feature his signature shuffle, traditional blues harp and his voice. The CD begins with Smith, Mandeville and bassist/arranger Darryl Wright, cutting up over the intro to the first tune before rolling into a swinging version of the salty "Roadside Produce Stand."
