| Fourth Annual LA Vida Music Festival Corniche Entertainment proudly presents The Fourth Annual LA Vida Music Festival, Sunday, September 2nd (Labor Day Weekend) at The Ford Amphitheatre. Following his triumphant debut at the Playboy Jazz Festival, master conguero Louie Cruz Beltran and his Latin Jazz Orchestra will headline the festival for the fourth consecutive year. Beltran welcomes back as emcee Mike Marino who joins this years' special guest line-up that features Latin guitar world fusion group Incendio, the award-winning Plaza de la Raza Youth Mariachi and, direct from Brazil, the Ted and Pablo Choro Ensemble with guest famed percussionist Chalo Eduardo. Each year internationally known artists join with the finest local talent to celebrate diverse Latin cultures in an evening of vibrant music and dance. LA Vida also coincides with the launch of National Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept. 15 - Oct. 15) and this year Brazilian Day Los Angeles (Sept. 8). It's been a bona fide year for Beltran, who has been the centerpiece of the festival since its inception. With his latest hit and critically-acclaimed album, Paint The Rhythm, and his recent rousing debut at the Playboy Jazz Festival, he has established himself as one of the master percussionists of our time. To quote Richard Ginnell of Variety, "The Louie Cruz Beltran Jazz Ensemble was an unexpected triumph of the day." With his Afro-Cuban beat and soulful sounds of his native California ethnic background, Beltran truly represents the diversity of the festival and its appeal to all demographics. Averaging over 150 national shows a year since their inception, the explosive Latin guitar world fusion music group Incendio's live performance has become an explosive improvisatory journey. Incendio features Jim Stubblefield (guitar), JP Durand (guitar), Liza Caribe (guitar/bass), Bryan Brock (percussion) and Nicole Falzone (drums). They have released seven recordings, including their latest "Vihuela" which was in coordination with a new signature wine "Incendio" from Vihuela Winery in Paso Robles. We congratulate and are pleased to welcome to LA Vida the Plaza de la Raza Youth Mariachi Ensemble. Participating for the first time, the ensemble featuring youth, ages 9 - 15, recently competed against 14 college-aged groups and was awarded 1st place at California's Annual Battle of the Mariachi's Festival at Mission San Juan Capistrano. Adding to this year's diversity, direct from Brazil are the Ted and Pablo Choro Ensemble (choro is passionately known as the "New Orleans jazz of Brazil"). Mandolinist/violinist Ted Falcon and harmonica virtuoso Pablo Fagundes will be performing a program of Brazilian and American music in conjunction with their new CD Ted and Pablo - Transcontinental Music Express. Ted has dedicated himself to the study of the mandolin and choro for the past 7 years. Pablo's goal is to consolidate his instrument, the harmonica, into the core of Brazilian music. Together and individually they have worked with such well-known Brazilian artists as Armandinho, Gilberto Gil, Epoca de Ouro, and the Brazilian All Stars Blues Band and in the U.S. with David Grisman, Mike Marshall, Ben E. King and Suzanne Vega. Louie is pleased to welcome back Mike Marino as the festival's emcee. Marino was the emcee for the debut LA Vida Music Festival in 2009. Affectionately known to thousands of his fans as New Jersey's Bad Boy, he is one of the most unique comics of our time. He has performed in every major comedy club from New York to Los Angeles including: The MGM Grand, Catch A Rising Star, The Improv and can be seen nightly as a top headliner at both the world famous Laugh Factory and The Comedy Store in Hollywood.
