| Carlos Santana Set to Begin Las Vegas Residency Legendary guitarist Carlos Santana kicks off a two-year run of concerts in Las Vegas in May. The musician's residency at the House of Blues will see him perform a selection of hits from his lengthy and distinguished career, which has seen the Mexican-born artist win ten Grammy Awards and sell more than 90 million records. Due to begin on Wednesday May 2nd, the residency will run throughout May and June before taking a break until September. It will then resume and continue until 2013. Regarded as one of the world's greatest living guitarists, Santana has pioneered a fusion of rock, salsa and jazz music since the late 1960s. House of Blues Entertainment chief executive Ron Bension described the 64-year-old's Las Vegas residency as "a rare chance for music lovers to get this close to an amazing performer". He added: "Fans will be able to share a dance, a special moment, or sing out loud during this all-night show." Fans of Santana will find plenty of hotels in Las Vegas at LateRooms.com, which recommends the Staybridge Suites Las Vegas. write your comments about the article :: © 2012 Jazz News :: home page |
