Jazz at the Rat featuring Stephanie Jordan at Tulane University

Stephanie Jordan will perform on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at Tulane University. Vocalist Stephanie Jordan is the fifth performer to emerge from a family of New Orleans bred musicians. The daughter of renowned saxophonist and educator Edward "Kidd" Jordan, Stephanie's lyrical style has been compared to that of Norah Jones and Cassandra Wilson. All About Jazz writes, "Her tone is crisp, perfect, but not in that polished way that sounds like an opera singer attempting jazz. She is more like a master of technique, yet with plenty of soul."

Jazz at the Rat is a series of free, live concerts held on selected Thursday evenings at Der Rathskeller (a.k.a. "The Rat") at Tulane. Curated by Jesse McBride, the series features performances by jazz legends and rising stars, comprising of both visiting artists and outstanding New Orleans-based musicians, accompanied by students from Tulane's Jazz Studies program.

Presented by the Lagniappe Series of the Newcomb-Tulane College Office of Cocurricular Programs.
