Bonnie Raitt's Album Slipstream Out April 10, 2012

Slipstream is the new album by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame slide guitarist Bonnie Raitt, her first album in seven years. The singer's previous 2005 album "Souls Alike" spent 14 weeks on the Billboard charts. She took a long hiatus after touring in 2009 to deal with the death of her parents, brother and best friend.

This time, the new Bonnie Raitt album Slipstream will be released under her own label Redwing Records with most of the tracks produced by Bonnie Raitt herself and Joe Henry. Bonnie Raitt explains the name of her album by saying, "I'm in the slipstream of those who came before me, and I'm leaving one for those behind me." The sixty-two year old seasoned performer promises listeners a taste of rock 'n roll, blues, jazz, some reggae, and more on the Slipstream album.

Along with new songs on her new 12-track album, Bonnie Raitt also includes two Bob Dylan covers "Million Miles" and "Standing in the Doorway, " along with Loudon Wainwright III's "You Can't Fail Me Now" and a reggae version of Gerry Rafferty's "Right Down the Line." Take a listen to the rock icon's latest songs when the album comes out, the Slipstream release date is on April 10, 2012.
