Her inventive piano playing and unique vocal sound transforms composition by Harold Arlen, Cole Porter, Billy Strayhorn or Thelonious Monk into her own art with emotional directness and respect for the tunes and their possibilities. Jay Leonhart is a noted bassist, vocalist and lyricist who has performed with diverse artists including Judy Garland, Carly Simon, Bucky Pizzarelli, Sting, and Frank Sinatra. Leonhart is noted for his clever songwriting often laced with dry humor, and his compositions have been recorded by such notable artists as Blossom Dearie, Lee Konitz and Gary Burton. Paula West with the George Mesterhazy Quartet Called one of the hardest-swinging jazz vocalists working today, the San Francisco singer Paula West's rich, dusky voice has captured the hearts of critics and audiences alike. She is joined by George Mesterhazy Quartet.
