| Celebrate music with Baajaa Gaajaa 2012 Baajaa Gaajaa - Music from 21st century India is back with its fourth edition. The three day musical festival from February 10th - 12th at Ishanya, Pune will be inaugurated by lyricist and Rajya Sabha member Javed Akhtar. The event will see performances and acts by over 100 artists from various genres of music, and a conclave with renowned faces from the world of music discussing a variety of relelvant subjects. Spearheaded by celebrated Indian musicians Shubha Mudgal and tabla maestro Aneesh Pradhan, Baajaa Gaajaa aims to celebrate music in all its diversity. The festival will witness performances by artisits from all genres of music like Rock, Blues, Jazz, Hindustani Vocal and Instrumental Music, as well as Folk Music from different parts of the country. With over 40 performances spread over three days by artists like Adil & Vasundhara, Pink Noise, Soulmate and others, at three different venues at Ishanya, Baajaa Gaajaa promises a space for the music lovers to enjoy and acquaint themselves with multiple genres of Indian music & other musical cultures. In addition to to music festival Baajaa Gaajaa, this year will also introduce a music conclave. The conclave from February 11th - 12th at Vivanta by Taj, Blue Diamond will witness participants of prominent names from the world of music, films, literature and technology. To name a few, panelists like Amol Palekar, Imtiaz Ali, Shantanu Moitra and Sujoy Ghosh will discuss and debate on topics ranging from music in film industry to the composers perspective to Indian music in digital world. Talking about the 4th Edition of the music festival Baajaa Gaajaa, Shubha Mudgal said, "Each year we try and present a wide variety of musical styles and genres at the Baajaa Gaajaa festival, and yet there is always more to choose from for the next edition of the festival. It almost seems that we will need to organize several Baajaa Gaajaa festivals in different parts of the country to fulfill this need!" 'More stories in a song', sequel to the musical play 'Stories in a song' which was premiered at Baajaa Gaajaa 20-11, will also be premiered during the music festival. Directed by renowned theatre personality, Sunil Shanbagh, the play is a musical collage of theatre, literature and history. The closing ceremony on February 12th will see a celebration of drumming and perecussion styles, which is conceptualized by Aneesh Pradhan and ambience designed by fashion designer Sabyasachi. From last three years, Baajaa Gaajaa has witnesses more than 30, 000 foot falls. The festival has seen some of the greatest performers of different genres like the legendary Santoor player Shivkumar Sharma, renowned Indian rock bands 'Indian Ocean' and 'East India Company' and eminent singers like Hariharan and Suresh Wadkar.
