The Reese Project Latest CD “Evening in Vermont”

TRP (The Reese Project) has hit their stride on their 9th CD - their first on Rhombus Records. This recording features straight ahead jazz - both standards & originals - juxtapositioned with traditional folk songs played not-so-traditionally. Tom Reese (flute) and Laurie Haines Reese (cello & electric cello) with Kirk Reese (piano) & Dave Young (drums) work together effortlessly, creating a fresh sound that flows effortlessly together. The standards are given a fresh treatment on this recording, especially "All Wood, " fused from "Norwegian Wood" & "All Blues." Tom Reese's originals have a mad swing, ending up with the quirky "Shenan-D'oh!-a" - a tribute to Stephen Foster & Homer Simpson, performed by a cello quartet.

BAND BIO: The Reese Project (TRP) plays lively music that rocks, pops & plays it cool; mesmerizing to watch with a funky, Monk-rocks out flavor like Bach having lunch with BB King. TRP includes something for every musical taste, from jazz, blues & funk to celtic & classical music. Mesmerizing to watch, this unique quartet combines flute, cello, piano & drums. Gorgeous compositions weave elements from around the world into up-tempo, high energy music and haunting sounds that flow from calypso to waltz feels.
