| Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival 2012 The Art OF Music Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival, the premier music event in the Caribbean, celebrates its sweet 16th anniversary from the 22nd – 28th January 2012, with a host of international headline acts and concerts, all taking place along the north coast of the island in Montego Bay and Ocho Rios. The annual week-long festival offers the best in Jazz, Blues, Reggae and R&B, with previous artists including world famous Diva Diana Ross, international acclaimed UK artist Joss Stone and grammy award-winning Maroon 5. Additionally, this year's festival will be even more unforgettable as 2012 marks Jamaica's 50th Anniversary of Independence. By way of marking this commemorate milestone, the festival will dedicate Thursday's line-up to the past 50 years of Jamaica's world renowned music scene including ska, rocksteady and of course reggae. Elizabeth Fox, Regional Director for the Jamaica Tourist Board says: "The Art of Music JAMAICA Jazz and Blues Festival has now established itself as one of the biggest and best events on the music festival calendar, both in Jamaica and globally. This year's festival will be especially significant as Jamaica celebrates its 50th Anniversary of Independence and as a result, a focus will be placed on the island's world renowned music styles, plus more mainstream, internationally recognisable music.
