Collectively, they have been nominated for 7 Boston Music Awards and 6 Boston Phoenix awards, and have been packing clubs and theaters from Boston to the South of France with their home-grown take on a classic hit formula: stage presence, powerful vocals, and catchy songs. Dwight & Nicole: American recording artists Dwight & Nicole (Dwight Ritcher and Nicole Nelson) have inspired comparisons to some of the greats: Etta James & John Lee Hooker, The Rolling Stones, & The Staple Singers, but it is their fresh blend of spirited blues, rock & gospel that will land them their own spot among the celebrated music makers. A surge of national attention following their heartfelt 2010 release !Signs landed Dwight & Nicole on the Boston Globe's "25 Most Stylish of 2011" list, and led them to sharing the stage with such acts as Ray LaMontagne, Robert Randolph, Martin Sexton, Levon Helm, The Avett Brothers, BB King, Michael Franti, Raphael Saadiq, and Yo Gabba Gabba! "Take R&B, soul, blues and jazz, mix in razor-sharp rock guitar (Dwight), a soulful, joyful, foot-stomping, happy-to-be-alive stage energy (Nicole), heat to boiling, and watch your face melt. That's Dwight & Nicole!" (Relix Magazine) JESSE DEE: Boston-based Jesse Dee proves an immensely talented vocalist and songwriter with songs that are both humble tributes and smart updates to the past. Whether crooning a heartsick ballad or letting his backbone slip, Dee delves into "old soul" while reimagining it for the 21st century. Some of his heroes have already taken notice. Since the release of his first record, Bittersweet Batch (7Not/Munich) in 2008, Jesse has performed with the likes of Al Green, Solomon Burke, Spencer Wiggins, Maceo Parker, and his personal favorite, Etta James. Having shared the stage with artists such as Sharon Jones and The Dap Kings, James Hunter, Raphael Saadiq, and Nikka Costa, Dee is also recognized to be an important factor in a flourishing, present day Soul scene. "Jesse Dee's sound is refreshingly vintage, without sounding a bit outdated or obsolete. He's not trying to be anyone but himself, and with writing as precise and descriptive as his, coupled with a voice so naturally soulful, it might make you tear up with an ear-to-ear grin on your face. He's establishing himself as a genuine figure who's reviving that sweet soul music we thought was done for when they pulled Otis Redding's plane out of Lake Monona."
