| The Iridium - From Graham Parker To Arturo Sandoval Jazz, rock, blues, and funk collide this November as NYC hotspot The Iridium plays host to rare collaborations, including jazz legend Russell Garcia with acclaimed vocalists Terese Genecco and Shaynee Rainbolt, Graham Parker with original Rumour/Brinsley Schwarz keyboard player Bob Andrews, the Montreal & California Guitar Trios, and more. Russell Garcia w/ Terese Genecco & Her Little Big Band and Shaynee Rainbolt (11/6): Garcia has collaborated with a who's who of jazz and film giants in his storied career, including Louis Armstrong, Miles Davis, Ella Fitzgerald, Sammy Davis Jr., Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland, and countless others. The 95-year-old composer will make a rare NYC performance with Award-Winning New York vocalist Shaynee Rainbolt and The Iridium's own Terese Genecco (the longest running nightclub act on Broadway). Arturo Sandoval (11/9-11): A protégé of the legendary jazz master Dizzy Gillespie, Arturo Sandoval first came to fame as a founding member of Grammy award-winning group Irakere, whose explosive mixture of jazz, classical, rock and traditional Cuban music caused a sensation throughout the entertainment world. Over the past three decades, Sandoval has been awarded 4 Grammys, 6 Billboard Awards and an Emmy. Montreal Guitar Trio & California Guitar Trio w/ The Les Paul Trio (11/14): Fusing European classical music, rock, blues, jazz, and more, the California Guitar Trio has shared the stage with legends including King Crimson, Tito Puente, and Taj Mahal. Described by the CBC as "the hottest guitar ensemble in Canada, " The Montreal Guitar Trio earned the 2011 Opus Prize for concert of the year in the Jazz / World Music category. The Graham Parker Duo feat. Bob Andrews of The Rumour (11/19-20), w/ The Les Paul Trio (11/21): Since his early days with the Rumour (with whom he has two albums in Rolling Stone's "Top 100 Albums of All Time"), Graham Parker has coupled punk's energy with his deeply rooted love of American R&B, country and soul music. For these special performances, he'll be joined by original Rumour/Brinsley Schwarz keyboard player Bob Andrews.
