| Thirteen Berklee Alumni Nominated for Latin Grammy Awards Thirteen Berklee alumni working in one of the most vital segments of the music industry have been nominated for Latin Grammy Awards. The majority of nominees are Music Production and Engineering (MP&E) alumni, 10 in all, some of whom are competing against each other in the Record and Album of the Year categories. Others appear in the Best Engineered Album and Producer of the Year categories. Three MP&E alumni nominees are multi Latin Grammy Award winners: Benny Faccone with seven, Gustavo Borner with six, and five-time winner Gustavo Celis. Aureo Baqueiro, with two previous awards, is up for Producer of the Year for his work on recordings by six different artists. Alumni nominated in performance categories were Al Di Meola, Bobby Sanabria, and Alexander Acha, who won the Best New Artist Latin Grammy in 2009. Winners will be announced at the 12th Annual Latin Grammy Awards ceremony, November 10, at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. The Univision Network will broadcast the proceedings live at 8:00 p.m. EST. Since the Latin Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences founded the awards in 2000, 19 Berklee alumni have received 54 Latin Grammy Awards. Berklee alumni have received a total of 205 Grammy Awards.
