"It's Always Been An Obsession" by Larry Barron

Virtuoso guitarist Larry Barron has released his CD "It's Always Been An Obsession." As a studio guitarist who has worked with solo folk artists such as Laura Eastman (Paul McCartney's sister in law) as well as country artists like Dean Chance to the 80's rock/punk band "Elmo and the Vegetables" to the soulful styling of Vanessa Hill in addition to many other avant-garde artists, Larry has mastered various musical styles from Bach to Rock.

"Foggy Mental Breakdown" features insane finger picking while "Dance Of The Castanets" features stratospheric electric guitar performances intermingled with Spanish guitar rhythms. "Triplets" is a gorgeous uptempo classical piece reminiscent of Steve Morse's "Little Kids, " but with a flavor and bounciness all its own. "Garbage Man Blues" once again shows Larry's virtuosity by changing gears and displaying his Mississippi Delta Blues finger prowess. "Rush Hour" again switches gears again and displays frenetic electric guitar energy almost making the listener feel the inherent road rage experienced behind the wheel. Not to be glossed over, there is the feel-good "Seems To Me" which features bluegrass like rhythm and instrumentation, worthy of a comparison to Ricky Skaggs, but again, retaining a flavor all its own.

Guitar lovers will appreciate the diversity and musical content embedded in the CD's 13 tracks. From classical to melodic rock compositions, this is a must for every guitar lover. Vanessa Hill of VineHill Music in Nashville, TN states: "Larry's guitar playing is incredible - matched only by his composition skills. Dance of the Castanets is destined to become a cult classic!"
