Thomas Pridgen To Perform With The Bay Area's Bassment

The San Francisco Summer Concert Series continues at the Flight Lounge on Thursday, August 25. The featured act that night will be BASSment with guest drummer Thomas Pridgen from The Mars Volta performing from 8 to 11 p.m. The Flight Lounge is located at 917 Laurel St., in San Carlos.

Thomas Pridgen has been voted as Best Up and Coming Drummer by Modern Drummer Magazine. In 2009, Pridgen formed the band called The Memorials and their self-titled album was released in January 2011.

Guests are invited to hear the unique sounds of BASSment's Nate Mercereau, Kevin Wong, and Dante McClinton. Their great and original sound will only be reinforced by drummer Thomas Pridgen.

BASSment has been influenced by a variety of artists. The RH Factor, Lettuce, Soulive, Herbie Hancock, Maceo Parker, Parliament Funkadelic, Sly & The Family Stone, Stevie Wonder, Ledisi, Sheila E., Melvin Seals, Kim Burrell, Kenny Garrett and Black Eyed Peas all helped shape the band and their remarkable and distinct sound. BASSment combines jazz, blues, funk, soul, high energy rock, and "everything in between."

"Our goal is to take our audience on a journey to the next level of music, " said Kevin Wong. "Everything we play is organic and interactive, with moments so uplifting that they are borderline spiritual."
