| Juan Santiago & Uninhibited Praise Introduces CD Juan Santiago & Uninhibited Praise is known on the East Coast as a dynamic and powerful musical aggregation. Singing songs of praise with fervor and conviction, the group takes the traditional sound of yesterday's gospel and blends it with the contemporary vibe of today creating something that is uniquely their own. That fact is most evident on their upcoming CD entitled, NaroGroup Presents Juan Santiago & Uninhibited Praise: Live Worship Experience. Recorded in Raleigh, North Carolina, last year, the CD is packed with memorable songs of adoration and praise to God. On June 3, 2011 at 8:00PM, JSUP is giving their fans a sneak peek into that incredible evening with a Listening Party. To be held at the Eubie Blake National Jazz Institute and Cultural Center (847 N. Howard Street, Baltimore, MD 21201), the free event will be hosted by D.C.'s Praise 104.1FM's own Cheryl Jackson. The artist is newly-signed to Naro Group Productions and the sophomore 2-disc, live set is the first release under the new label. The project contains the lead singles, "Were You There?" and a gospel rendition of Michael W. Smith's "Healing Rain". Both tracks have already been serviced to radio. "My Hiding Place", an original song written by Santiago after the passing of his mother, portrays melodious vocals and heartfelt lyrics. "Were You There?", also penned by Santiago, bears testament to the sacrifice of Jesus Christ through eight powerful modulations. Gospel Legend Sarah Jordan Powell makes a guest appearance on the project as do Bishop Pamela D. Spence and Pastor J Michael Foster. Juan Santiago is no novice to the gospel music industry. The singer and songwriter, who hails from San Juan, Puerto Rico and currently lives in Durham, North Carolina, has been in love with music since childhood. Influenced by his mother who was an opera singer, he made his debut at his home church at the tender age of 6 singing, "I Already Been To The Water". Training under Gospel Pioneer Dr. Mattie Moss Clark, he made the decision to enter music ministry as a teen. In 1995, he formed Juan Santiago & Uninhibited Praise with singers from up and down the Eastern Seaboard and they've been sharing the good news for over 15 years now. Comprised of vocalists and ministry leaders, the ensemble, which boasted 50 members at its inception, released their debut recording called Takin' it to the Streetz in 2005. The project received love from D.C.'s Heaven 1580 and the CD's singles, "I Give You Peace" and "More Than You Can Bear" made it to the top of the station's radio charts. They have had the opportunity to sing at Pastor Shirley Caesar's church and have opened up for artists such as Vicki Yohe, The Canton Spirituals, Keith Pringle and the late Rev. Timothy Wright. Now the group is prepping the release of their second project and the artist is thrilled about it. "I am so excited about this project, " says Juan. "Everyone who has heard it thinks the project is going to do well. Personally, I love the project because it's all worship and there is nothing that I love to do more than to worship God." Juan Santiago & Uninhibited Praise, who will be featured on an upcoming edition of Bobby Jones Artist Showcase on The Word Network, will also be hosting a "Giving Back to the Community Praise Party" on Saturday, June 4, 2011 in Baltimore, MD. The project, NaroGroup Presents Juan Santiago & Uninhibited Praise: Live Worship Experience will be released on iTunes, Amazon and in stores where CDs are sold on Tuesday, July 26, 2011. write your comments about the article :: © 2011 Jazz News :: home page |
