Bob James to Appear on the Jazz19’s Show, FunkyJazz.TV

Bob James will appear on FunkyJazz.TV, the best Jazz show, sponsored by Jazz19.com out of Costa Rica. Mr. James will be added to a great list of artists, such as Peter White, Chieli Minucci, Joyce Cooling, Jessy J, Terje Lie, Lao Tizer and Katja Rieckermann. The show airs on Sunday, May 1, 2010 at 8 PM Eastern Time. The show can be listened and viewed on www.FunkyJazz.TV

Bob James, a Jazz keyboardist and a producer, is recognized as one of the progenitors of smooth Jazz. He had more than 30 solo albums throughout a rich career of nearly half a century. He has worked with artists like Hank Crawford, and Grover Washington Jr. One On One, the first in three collaborations with Earl Klugh, was awarded a Grammy in 1980 and has sold over a million copies. Today Mr. James still appears solo and with his group: Fourplay. It was in 1990 while recording his Grand Piano Canyon album that Bob reunited with his old friend, drummer Harvey Mason, Jr. and worked for the first time with Lee Ritenour on guitar and Nathan East on bass. The sessions for this project were the genesis of the group, Fourplay. Their first album was recorded and released in 1991.

"FunkyJazz.TV and Jazz 19 cannot be more excited with our recent activities, " said Bobby D, co-founder of the organization. "In recent weeks, we have solidified a 6 day retreat with Mr. Chieli Minucci in Costa Rica, and continued to add top Jazz musicians to our list of guests and fans." Jazz19.com is the only organization in the world that arranges intimate Jazz retreats, with top Jazz artists and a small group of Jazz fans. Together, the musician and the fans enjoy a climatic musical experience in Lake Arenal and the beaches of Costa Rica. The fans and the artists spend 6 days together, touring Costa Rica, socializing, and jamming. The YesArenal project is the host of the Jazz retreats.
