| Special Screening of Ragnar Kjartansson’s ‘The Man’ A special screening of Icelandic artist Ragnar Kjartansson's The Man will take place at the historic Baejarbíó cinema in Hafnarfjördur on Sunday, April 17. The film will be shown continuously from 2-10 pm and admission is free. "Outdoors, under a big Texan sky, we see blues legend Pinetop Perkins (1913-2011) play the piano outside an abandoned farm, " a press release says in description of the film. In The Man, Perkins, a consummate showman, runs through songs, jokes, Lucky Strike cigarettes, and ribald asides that appear to have become a part of him, and his address to the world. Frail, and perhaps experiencing dementia, Perkins repeats songs, in effect looping himself, just as the video begins again and again.
