Kai Clark Band Pays Rare Live Tribute to Gene Clark

On April 29, Jim Ladd of KLOS will host the High Moon Records label launch party and concert at the Roxy in Los Angeles. In March, the label announced its plans to release the previously unreleased 1973 Love album 'Black Beauty' on June 7 . High Moon is also preparing to release 'Two Sides To Every Story, ' the seminal 1977 solo album from The Byrds's chief songwriter Gene Clark. This is the first time Clark's record will be available in over 20 years.

In anticipation of this release, Clark's son Kai Clark and the Kai Clark Band will perform a rare tribute set that will include the 'Two Sides' album in its entirety as well as other songs from Gene Clark's outstanding catalog. Additionally, to celebrate the monumental occasion of the 'Black Beauty' release, the surviving members of the LOVE Black Beauty Band will perform together for the first time in over thirty years, playing never-before-heard live versions of songs from the legendary album, as well as a selection of songs from the Arthur Lee/Love catalog, during a rare set in honor of the late Arthur Lee.

Special guests will make appearances throughout the night and there will be a VIP after party and intimate impromptu jam session located "On The Rox, " above the venue. The evening is sponsored by LA Weekly and Music Connection.
