Get into spring at jazz series

The Halton Museum Foundation is trying to help people step into spring with a jazz concert presentation on Sunday, April 10. The concert will take place at the Halton Regional Museum's Hearth Room with Juno Award-winning musician Christopher Plock. Plock is both a vocalist and a saxophone player.

"Halton Region Museum's Jazz at the Museum series of concerts continues to showcase top notch performers in the most unique setting, " said Halton Regional Chair Gary Carr, in a press release. "Christopher Plock is one of the best male jazz vocalists in the country."

Plock's latest CD release is Blue Skies For Loveday. In the past he has performed with the late Jeff Healey and the Jazz Wizards, and Ron Hawkins. He also worked on the K-OS CD titled Joyful Rebellion, for which he received the two Junos.

"Backed up by a band of seasoned professionals, Christopher is a performer who brings tremendous energy to every performance, " said Steve Baker, Foundation chairman and jazz series spokesperson, in the release. "His varied repertoire (Jazz, Blues, Funk, R&B and Pop) is the perfect antidote to those lingering winter blues."

The concert is a fundraiser for the foundation in support of the museum's capital renovation campaign.

Limited tickets are $20, available at the door, which includes light snacks. To purchase tickets in advance call 905-875-2200, ext. 27. There will also be a cash bar with wine and beer.

Seating is on a first come first served basis. Attendees should inform gate staff to avoid paying parking fees.

The museum is located in the Kelso Conservation Area in Milton.
