Muse, My Chemical Romance & The Strokes headline Leeds Fest 2011

Leeds Festival is an annual music festival that takes place in Bramham Park, Leeds, UK. The Reading and Leeds Festivals are a pair of annual music festivals that take place in Reading and Leeds in the United Kingdom and are run by Festival Republic (itself owned by Live Nation and MCD). Leeds Festival takes place on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the August bank holiday weekend.

Leeds Festival originates from the National Jazz Festival, which was conceived by Harold Pendleton (founder of the Marquee Club in London) and was first held at Richmond Athletic Ground in 1961.After a successful first year Leeds festival continued resurgence. The Leeds leg, however, was plagued by riots and violence which led to problems in retaining its license the worst of these was in 2002. after which Mean Fiddler moved the festival to Bramham Park, near Bramham north-east of Leeds in 2003. Since then, security at Leeds Festival site has increased and problems have been reduced. Leeds Festival is the sister to the long standing Reading event with performances from lovable indie lads, Blur and an amazing set from The Red Hot Chilli Peppers. Leeds festival directed by Mean Fiddler's director of festivals, Melvin Benn is one of the most powerful men in the UK festival industry, with Glastonbury, Homelands, and Reading/Leeds all part of his portfolio of responsibility.

Leeds Festival returns for 2011 and will be held from 26-28 August 2011 at Bramham Park, Leeds. Muse, My Chemical Romance and The Strokes will headline Leeds Festival 2011; with line-up being top notch again.
