| Rounder Records To Release First Live Album By NewFound Road NewFound Road once again demonstrate their abilities as a crowd pleasing outfit, this time on a live recording made at Johnson City, Tennessee's venerable music venue The Down Home. Due April 26, Live at the Down Home is NewFound Road's first live album – a mix of time proven favorites from their earlier albums and material that would, at first glance, seem unlikely fare for a bluegrass repertoire. Tim Shelton, founder, band leader, lead singer and (mostly rhythm) guitarist of this group of young veterans, possesses one of the truly distinctive voices in bluegrass today. The current band's line-up includes brothers Joe and Jamey Booher on mandolin, bass and harmony vocals and Josh Miller on banjo, guitar, harmony and lead vocals with special guest Jim VanCleve on fiddle. With their razor-sharp instrumental attack, soulful three-part vocals, and wide range of material both original and adapted, NewFound Road has emerged as one of the most exciting new bands on the bluegrass landscape. NewFound Road will be taking its driving sound to audiences around the country. write your comments about the article :: © 2011 Jazz News :: home page |
