| Casa del Mar Adds New Muse to Santa Monica's Growing Live Music Scene Hotel Casa del Mar announces Erin Boehme as the latest artist to join the hotel's Live Well Again Art and Event Series. Boehme performed each Saturday night in February at Hotel Casa del Mar's Lobby Lounge. Her performance includes renditions of songs from timeless vocalists like Aretha Franklin, Ella Fitzgerald, and Ray Charles as well as many of her original songs. Born and raised in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, 24-year-old Erin Boehme's love of classic music stemmed from an early age. Growing up Erin wrote poetry, sang and dreamt of being a journalist. These hobbies came together and Erin began writing songs at age 15. As a child, her parents turned her on to big band and jazz artists such as Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Earth Wind and Fire, and Al Green. Erin draws her inspiration from all of these prolific artists to create what she describes as her "Soul meets American Songbook" style. Grammy Award winning Michael Buble is a long time friend of Erin. Buble was able to immediately recognize Erin's remarkable talent. He is currently producing her album that features music by the Michael Buble Band. Erin Boehme's latest work will be released this Spring. The album is a collection of contemporary songs that Boehme describes as organic and less polished than her previous work. She wrote seven of the ten songs on the album which chronicles stories of her life from the past few years. Erin has worked with a diverse group of co-writers to create a raw combination of songs. Noteworthy tracks include, "The Last Time, " "What a Life, " "One More Time" and "In my Shoes." The album also features a Coldplay cover song. write your comments about the article :: © 2011 Jazz News :: home page |
